400 yard swim – 12 mile bike – 5K run
Eagle in the Sun Triathlon begins with a 400-yard swim in the Socorro ISD Aquatic Center. Participants then ride on a mostly flat 12-mile bike loop and run 5K run through the nearby neighborhood. The race ends in the Socorro ISD stadium, where athletes enjoy a victory lap around the football field before crossing the finish line.

An epic ride through the scenic and historic Mesilla Valley over country lanes covered by pecan orchards and lined by New Mexico’s world renowned chile fields.
The Chile Pepper Challenge offers routes and distances for cyclists of all skill levels and ambition.
Each ride is fully supported with rest stops, route markings and SAG vehicles. Snacks, water and port-a-potties will be provided at all rest stops.
